That's good to know. I'm currently on a t400s, and I was wanting to upgrade to the X1 Carbon, but I hadn't seen anything about it on thinkwiki yet.

This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from "Harvey": Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be ... you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart.

You're right Virgin Mobile not having the free-roaming agreement that Sprint does. In practice this hasn't mattered for me in most of the Western states (Sprint has coverage along the major freeways and in rural Utah, at least). I still h

I used sup for many years (and contributed some very minor patches). sup is no longer maintained and it's difficult to get running with ruby 1.9. Some good people that weren't happy with sup created notmuch ( http://notmuchmail.org/ ) with

I use focus follows mouse and it works pretty great. There are a few circumstances where Openbox's focus follows mouse mode is more finely tuned (for instance, when un-maximizing a window, the window under the cursor receives focus instead

The js extensions are fantastic. It's a real shame there is little (no?) documentation to help people get started.

An article on the demise of winamp suggested that the winamp people were receiving over $100,000 a month in checks sent by mail. I would suppose if you had an easier way to pay then checks by mail, even more "regular" people would be willi

> But... surely that code is far more "insanely stupid[-looking]" than the first...? I don't think anyone is arguing that x\n!p is a good way to write code. Crockford is pointing out that ASI will not occur when ! is an infix operator.

As a college student, all these free online classes from MITx, Stanford, etc. are killing me. I really want to take them, but I don't have time for these and my regular school work (and full-time job).

I also find it strange that so few people use caps lock, but among all my programmer associates, I am the only one that does. That said, I hit Esc way more often than Caps Lock, so I've swapped those two keys.

It's easy to tell which mail servers are using SSL by looking at your mail server logs. He probably only cares that most of the mail servers talking to him use SSL (which is also true for every mail server I have administered).

Maybe I have been fortunate in choosing employers, but is 1 or 2 days off really going to make people feel good about the extra 80 hours they worked? Even considering the "tips" in this article I feel burnt out and awful about working for
