Crazy thing is to use alertable state, iocp doesn't work with it as you expect. I expected frameworks like unity engine to use completion ports.

The data would be in the server database not in memory hogged by state for each client's active connection. I seriously don't understand server-side rendering when toasters are more powerful than a mid tier pc i bought 15yrs ago.

No it isn't, even the govt apps in my country have ads in them. With firefox i can easily block them, for apps this becomes much harder, if dns blocking isn't sufficient.

Windows apps also bundle all dependencies, go check out any dotnet app(all crypto stuff is in some dotnet library..). Windows docs also encourage you to do this. The difference is there is a set of base windows libraries that you can expect
