What makes you assume I did not read? How shocking is it that, on some article and topic, I do not have a comment I deem interesting enough to share? Besides, if you do not appreciate my specificly off-topic contribution, then so be it.

Off topic: there seems to be a growing trend at HN of posts reaching the homepage with a reasonable number of upvotes yet without comments. I don't know how to proceed with these posts (and this one), yet the temptation of mentally fl

A perfectly sane reaction to art. Most people are not aware there can be a difference between "art I love" and "masterpieces of Art History". You do not have to appreciate La Joconda or the Last Supper, just as you might

As long as Google is the hand that feeds Mozilla, don't expect Mozilla to try anything too rebellious.

I think it's hard to contradict this, yet it's a hardly accepted lemma. I don't know why, maybe because we perceive knowledge as a pure thing, that can be shared, embraced and understood out of thin air, that we can be pure m

I am not certain how much credibility this publication deserves. It's not scientific by nature, it focuses on outdoor activities, which is only a tangent topic, the author has no bio, there is little to no bibliographic references.

One major selling point against One Big Server: VCs and enterprise customers prefer (sometimes demand) Cloud. For better or for worse. (Worse, IMO)

My experience would make me agree with you. Developer experience around tooling in Clojure makes a lot of assumption around prior knowledge of Java ecosystem. Elixir, on the other hand, welcomes the newcomer better.

The Elixir ecosystem is growing incredibly well. I am impressed both from an engineering and a product perspective. It shows that they are playing the long game. I think they are achieving what I wished happen to the Clojure ecosystem: prod

Because there is a middleground. Being fit or staying away from your phone doesn't require to run 20k a week or to remove the phone from your kids' perception of the world.

As I grew older, there are certain things I have learned to enjoy more, such as slowness, inaction, loneliness, boredom. Boredom is typically the most controversial, so the reason here is that boredom first allows for moments you want out o

As the adage goes: Emacs is an Operating System with a somewhat decent text editor embedded. This solution is just as portable as Emacs. Very, very portable.

It took me many attempts to adopt Obsidian, but eventually, now I am hooked. The key for me was Daily notes (see Periodic Notes plugin) + Tasks. It allows me to write freely while using todo-like bullet lists to remember the upcoming tasks.

Airports are so crazy expensive that they'd better have some extra ROI. So they are designed as malls because that's what the architects are asked for. Malls with eventually a plane at the end of the corridor.
