Well, I think the muddy pool of connections is what this is a solution for. While I see it as practically impossible to implement, it would be great for huge legacy systems that grew rather than were designed. For instance, all of a sudden

I was wondering the same thing. I think it would make sense. Here are a couple of interesting pages I found: http://rssjs.org/ http://scripting.com/stories/2012/09/10/rssInJsonForReal.htm...

I would take this post and email it to them. What's the worst that could happen? If you're debating leaving anyhow, you might want to give them a dose of truth and let them have the opportunity to see the error in their ways. OR they could

SendGrid automatically adds click tracking and opened email statistics. Also, god forbid you actually try to use the Amazon SDK for PHP. Two days I'll never get back. Additionally, I was unable to get Amazon to verify my domain so that I co

Yeah, I'm also porting all of my scraping code to the device itself. It's a bitch, but HN is so ban happy and unreliable that it's becoming a requirement.

I love projects like these. In a few minutes I can have some advanced functionality and make myself look way smarter than I am. Just a thought for the future, perhaps come up with a solution for iPhone/iPad apps.

I wasn't specifically saying the code itself wasn't maintainable. However, I wrote a scraper for HN and the structure isn't really there. Granted, no one designs a website to be scraped. It's the kind of "well, let's use a table for everyth

That's kind of a silly thing to say: "Most people here are depressed because they don't have JESUS". I'm completely happy and content with my life despite my lack of "spirituality". Also, you don't know this person. Maybe they're homosexual

There's always at least one person who responds in this kind of aggressive tone. I don't think the question is about good web design, but about good data structure, doing things in a maintainable way. It's like "Why don't you comment your c

That kind of site is a trend not an original idea. The guy in question had his js files ripped off but I think I remember it being quite different from this one. None of the javascript looks ripped off (no names of other sites or anything)

Do you have any interest in providing a guide for your users to do that themselves? Obviously they'd have to trust you to some degree to follow your guide and assume you're not tricking them. I'm generally not a very paranoid person, but in
