I got an email to this effect today. I don't remember signing up to get emails, though presumably it was years ago if I did. I unsubscribed and marked as spam, but why is this something that required emailing people about?

Did the police actually do anything? Part of the responsibility here falls on the police to say, "It is not a crime to let children play unsupervised, mind your own business." I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually ill

This is not a good reason to have kids if that is your only reason. Assuming your kids can mow your lawn from age 8 to 18 and they only cost you $100k over their lifetime (I'm guessing a conservative estimate), you're basically pa

Why is there a total amount of change in velocity possible from solar sails? Shouldn't it depend on the mass of the thing being accelerated, amount of time under acceleration, etc?

I don't understand the units here. Surely a solar sail causes acceleration or deceleration, so its contribution would be in m/s^2, not m/s.
