Another way to look at it would be that intelligence is just a tool every person has. A tool we are all free to use and abuse as we please. It allows one possessing a lot of intelligence to achieve once goals quicker and more efficiently. H

Hmm, interesting. Well, I have Exede Satellite service as my ISP (best I can get) and my best latency, to any server, is 800ms. The way I figure it, 35,786 km / 300 miles per ms would be 120ms up * 4 for the round trip. So that's

I wonder how it would compare to Exede Satellite service. I have Exede, it's the only thing available here in High Desert :( The speed is very good for what it is, I am getting 16-20 mbps down and 3mbps up. But, the latency is a huge i

From what I understand about the system, the article is incorrect. You don't NEED to invest $100k to get a return. Investing $1,000, for instance, will also have the same probability of providing you proportionately equivalent return.

Hopefully Apple will follow last year by focusing on making iOS more open to 3rd party products. I know iOS Finder would be too much to ask for, but I will anyway. iOS Finder, please. For OSX, I would love it if they just left it alone (fea

Why is it that after looking at this rather cool competition, and looking at all the cool technology that is coming out of it, you reduce it to "South Korea > USA?"

First, I wish all the best of luck to the OP. It's such a scary thing to go through, but it's something you will get through, like many others said, the outcomes nowadays are so much better than even 10 years ago. As for the insur

Ilf and Petrof's "The Golden Cath" is a must read, if you speak Russian. Not sure if it translates well. I think both The Golden Cath and 12 Chairs would make awesome comedies if properly adopted to modern day US. I know Mel

So are iOS devices that have a passcode and are running iOS 8, and with fingerprint scanning a lot more people have password locked devices. Good article on the subject is here: http://www.darthnull.org/2014/10/06&

If the only thing Apple does is simply pay people to poke around the app on an iPhone for a few minutes, then by that assertion there should be a stunning amount of Malware on the AppStore. I mean, all you have to do is place a time delay c

I really love the discussion about making the friction hinge, it looks really cool, though I think over engineered. I think the most elegant friction hinge design I have ever seen was on my Panasonic CF-73. It's almost 14 years old now

I don't understand what makes you say that Google's malware checking system is superior to Apple's. Do you have a source for that? Do you have a source to the way Apple in general does their app vetting, or Google for that ma

Does it really take $300 million dollars per year to develop a browser? Ok, fine, a browser, an OS, and a programming language? I am more curious than anything, are there other things that Mozilla does that I am missing?

If you are really concerned about security, why would you trust an prebuilt binary of an open source project. The source is available, just grab the source and build it your self. That way you at least know what you have.
