Very true, like with most things in life, balance is key. Full stack developer who's emphases is X is a grate candidate, assuming X is what you are looking for. Full stack developer who is "great" at everything is probably no

Perhaps it's also important to recognize that sometime someone who is the second best, or even just "good" at something, rather than "the best," might actually be a better person for your company. Having worked with

neurotech1 above says that it's unidirectional in hardware, so it's a moot point. But you could also do a simple relay server with API. FMS pushes the info to a "server" through a one way link. IFE would request the info

Why on earth would you need more than a simple one way API between the FMS and IFE to be able to show inflight progress. For that matter, why would it be more complicated than a simple serial cable with just the O pin on the FMS side, and j

I find the problem with lack of serial number on the side of the hard drive to be a little silly. How hard would it be to get someone in your firm to simply place labels with serial numbers on the side of the Toshiba drives. It wouldn'

A lot of these changes are very small, but they are meant to work on a subconscious level. A good example for me is fixed width font. When programming, I find some fonts to be pleasant to work with, and other unpleasant. It's not a ex

What tools is OS X lacking? From my experience most of the development and server tools are available natively on OS X. It lacks support for containers, but that would be a worthy addition, and I would say worth spending money and time on.

At it's core OS X is Unix. In what way would Linux be a better choice? I am not saying that Linux is a worse choice, but for a company that writes an OS as one of it's core businesses, it only makes sense to run that OS in as many

I thought they were using NeXTSTEP, hence all the NS API calls in Obj-C. Back in 1989 I am guessing NeXT would be built on some kind of Unix system first. Considering that OS X is a descendent of NeXT, I would think that before OS X, they w
