That may be true, but again, what do you care about more, your files and key strokes, or your webcam. If you have tape over your webcam but you still use online banking, you are a fucking idiot. You either have faith in the security of your

If the goal is to stop terrorism and illegal drug trade, this is the epitome of idiocy. End to end encryption isn't trivial to implement, but at the same time there are many open source projects that implement it already. If this becom

How stupid do you have to be to doubt the security of your laptop enough to put tape over your webcam, but not enough to stop using it all together. If you are concerned that your laptop might be compromised, then you should stop using it.

That sounds like a good possible solution. Online backups are not an option for me, due to internet limitations, but paid app with open source restore tool is an acceptable solution. At least that way I am not going to be stuck with no way

There is no pattern password in iOS. It's only a numerical or long form password.

But the problem still remains, if it's well publicized that they were told about the hack, next time they are compelled by the court they will have to tell everyone what FBI told them.

Unfortunately due to our internet connection currently (satellite, very limited), internet options are impractical. We are super limited on data, 15GB/mo :(

Apple SHOULD NOT demand to find out how the FBI did it because it would expose them to discovery requests in future court cases where they would have to tell other people (read China / Russia) how to do it. For now they have plausible

The Secure Enclave does have it's own flash, it apparently even has it's own OS. What do you mean by bit flip attack? I am actually really interested in how it would be possible.

That's a great read, still reading it now. I wish it was more specific about how the Secure Enclave times the period between passwords, however. There are 2 ways to do it, as I see it: 1. One way would be for the SE to have it's o

Are there any good articles on the difference between iPhone 5, 5c, 6, and 6c in terms of security? Also, has anyone covered why NAND Flash clone attack vector would not work? I had many people tell me that is definitely, for sure, certainl

If you use your iPhone 6 WITH touch ID, that is, you actually use touch id to unlock it, it makes it all the more easy for them to unlock it. They can not compel you to provide a password, as of yet, but they can compel you to provide a fin

If this is a serious problem, what about simply packaging Wine in 6-12 oz bottles? Single serve glass wine. This looks like a really over engineered solution to a rather simple problem.
