Is there any effective remedy to this? Would be interested to hear your opinion (which sounds like it’s as lot closer to the action than mine is).

Perhaps. Although I do think it’s interesting that we’re now saying things like “framers get hurt all the time” and not things like “framers get killed all the time”, which would have been much more common in ages past.

I agree that it’s time we started putting COVID risks in to perspective. Yes, the Delta variant is more transmissible that regular. But to a fully vaccinated person, is it more or less of a concern now than automobile accidents or other vir

I think you’re talking past each other. Is the virus still with us (your point)? Yes. Do we have a potent and effective vaccine which, for vaccinated persons means the virus is no longer a threat (the other person’s point)? Yes.

Taste is such a funny thing. I generally like ambient and electronica, Monolake, Tim Hecker, etc. I hated every second of the playlist you posted! :). Anyway, thanks for putting it out there. When I program I listen to a lot of bird song&#x

I would agree with you if humans were good at fact checking and then changing their minds based on those facts. But humans do not work that way and never will. Even you yourself don't work that way because you won't check to see i

Just to add to my other post, I like what you're getting at. I think getting money out of politics would make a huge difference. Let's make a voluntary and auditable pledge that politicians could make before they are elected where

Allowing people to vote on issues they care about would be a disaster. We'd have the death penalty back in a week, and abortion/immigration/drugs outlawed in a month. Democracy doesn't work because the masses are smart a

There is an idea in human culture that we make decisions by looking at the evidence and then changing our minds to coincide with the truth. In this world unlimited Free Speech makes sense. But humans do not do this. We make decisions based

Agreed. I’m no software historian, but Smalltalk has always fascinated me. I even spent a fair amount of time in the Pharo community as I was learning to code. Eventually I left for Python and Django and the robust communities they have.

Google translate says: "I don't work for free for small multinationals. Your cheap and spare credentials can be filed wherever it suits you. I don't know if this is the answer you were waiting for."

I think Stripe's opinion is that their current business is already a privacy nightmare (being a payments processor) and that they've learned a bit about it through the years so they feel they have the experience to do this right.

The worst offender for this is opening Bing when I mistype something in the Windows Start menu. I can't help but think this accounts for a large percentage of claimed traffic for Edge and Bing. It certainly is the only time I use them

Interesting. I had the opposite experience to this. Even though all I ever wanted to know about was what was happening to my friend's kids, my feed was taken over with political and social justice outrage. Outrage sells.
