I own a Rolex and wear it most days. You may be surprised to find that Reddit is not representative of the real world.

You don’t understand it, so it must be a cult? Maybe I don’t want more computers strapped to my body, maybe I don’t want to interact with one every time I need to know the time. Maybe I don’t need a subsecond accurate clock throughout the d

Many years ago when I disabled my Facebook account I noticed that Messenger continued to work, so there was definitely some level of separation.

A combination of cycling and beer posters, all from limited runs and framed… I also have some of my photography on canvases and a photo of Liam Gallagher smoking a cigarette on a plane.

Not to mention that “Owen” woman who nobody seems to know anything about but is this spitting image of his ex-wife and has that trademark Johnson shade of hair.

We use a short domain for QR codes to stop them getting overly complex.

It’s working now, I wonder if it was related to the public WiFi I was using earlier. I’ll try it again next time I am there, everything else seemed to be working fine.

I used to have two Arowana about 15 years ago, they were fascinating fish. Then one day I got up in the morning and they were just… gone. Tank was well sealed, nothing in there big enough to eat one let alone both of them, and I checked eve

Very similarly to yourself, but I would say backdoor and vulnerability are mutually exclusive (kinda? I guess a backdoor is a deliberate vulnerability but I think you know what I mean) yet both can be exploited (the exploit being the client

As another reply mentioned, to prevent DNS rebinding attacks. The general expectation is you will whitelist domains from which you expect RFC1918 responses.

Do most DNS forwarders not block addresses that resolve to a local IP these days? I know dnsmasq does, and NextDNS too I think.

“You what, mate?” is fairly aggressive, it immediately makes me think of some dickhead in a pub taking offence to someone and looking to escalate to a physical confrontation (I’m British). Unrelated but “oi, dickhead” is what I shout at my

Fun fact, I’m UK based and should I find the police demanding I open my (gun) safe I would legally have to refuse until an authorised firearms officer is present lest I lose my shotgun license.

I think the problem is that you do understand and have explained it perfectly, but some people can’t handle the truth. These threads have brought out some ludicrous opinions (as anything Apple centric tends to on HN).

I can recommend Fastmail for email, they’ll even pull in all your gmail data. I use iCloud for my calendars which works well but I guess you’d need to be an Apple user. I can also recommend Kagi as a Google Search replacement.
