Played around for 30 minutes and it's kinda underwhelming. It works and is pleasant to use but it's very simple and doesn't really do anything any slides software from 10 years ago couldn't do.

While I agree I feel it's kinda poetic that Japan is notoriously ok with Nintendo and Sony putting people in prison and has done absolutely nothing about it.

Despite your snark - you'll never win an argument where trusting a for profit corporation is some sort of win over transparent secure system. Yes Apple might be better of the lesser evils but is this really where us as a privileged cla

Apple's marketing and branding is truly impressive when even Hackernews crowd, who'd you assume are very tech savvy, are eating it up all of the propaganda.

RAM is literally the cheapest primary component in a laptop at going rate of 1-4usd/GB. I'd say that shipping 8GB base model in 2024 is clearly manipulation by Apple, i.e. planned obsolescence or a way to moat Apple software. Anyo

I think it's hard to say that Tesla products are at fault here when Tesla has been clearly setup to grow Chinese EV industry and now can't compete due to Chinese regulations, subsidies and a massive campaign to promote Chinese car

> China is VWs biggest market Yes but for how long? China was very successful at baiting Tesla and raising their own EV industry. If anything it's proving that businesses can't rely on Chinese markets even without a trade war.

Nah all software should be multi platform if possible. Locking programs in to some specific brand is just silly and you don't even need to be a open software extremist to acknowledge that. Also not mentioning the platform anywhere in t

It's quite a common pattern in saas. Someone gets through automated ToS checks with some niche use case and escalates some unrelated issue to support which triggers manual ToS review. That being said, a corporation as big as CF with 12

I agree, HN appears trully dystopian sometimes. We used to go to our IT teacher after school to help us find programming exercises because access was so hard. It's not some sort of exception either, kids would actively reach out for mo
