Very nice project! Would be cool if it didn't need a .srt file, but that it would scan the audio for a search prase. Edit: Never mind, I see that you can create transcriptions using vosk!

There is a learning curve to these kinds of machines, so it might be hard to play with it without some practice. I’d recommend to just buy one, and experiment with it. They can provide years of creative fun!

I know, but I've come to the realisation that menu-diving devices just aren't suited to me. There's too many steps and combinations of keys to remember - is the feeling I get every time. Especially when you've got lots o

I love the sound, capabilities and build quality of the Elektron gear (especially Digitakt / Analog Rytm2), but I dislike the amount of menu-diving that's required. I find the interface a bit of a barrier. My Roland TR-8S has dedi

This button doesn’t really work for me. Often I need to click it multiple times before a video dissapears from my recommendations. Same with the ‘Not interested’ button. I’m guessing YT works with a system that is ‘eventually consistent’, b

AT5 (local Amsterdam news station) recently made a video about darkstores. https://youtu.be/Owf3Uo3NC8o (Dutch, but auto-translate subtitles work pretty well)

Nice to see that the author uses Shellcheck. There is a very nice Shellcheck VS Code extension that links examples of good/bad practices when writing Bash. I can definitely recommend using it if you’re writing Bash scripts!

$240 per month for internet, wow. I didn't realise things were that expensive for people living in remote areas. I'm currently paying ~$40 (converted from EUR) per month for a 100Mb/s fiber connection.

I try to understand the current restrictions but the numbers don’t make sense to me anymore. In my country there have been around 21k deaths from COVID (officially). 0.9% of those deaths were people that were between 0-49 years old. That’s

Anecdotally, I feel that some sort of tool like this is being used on YouTube as well. I don't use other 'social media' platforms. I've created two accounts, one where I mostly watch left-wing videos and one where I watc

I use floppy disks for my Akai S2800 sampler :) Originally built around 1992 it still works (and sounds) great! Modding it to support USB is too expensive, and I quite enjoy some of the limitations it brings. You have to get creative for so

It doesn’t matter. I’m a bit of a ‘positive’ existential nihilist, and I strongly feel that everything I do is not important in the greater view of existence / nature. That doesn’t mean that I think everything I do is worthless, some t

As others in this thread have mentioned, Docusaurus is really good. It was very easy to add search with Algolia and meta tags for SEO as well.

Not a solo-preneur, but I’ve had great experiences so far with Dokku, an open-source Heroku clone. I’m running ~40 apps on my single VPS since a couple of years. I use it in combination with Github Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines and Gitlab CI

The demoscene is fantastic, it’s just very math-heavy. I love shaders and the speed of GPU’s/parallel processing, but learning to write GLSL is hard especially when you haven’t had much math education. (Which is often the case for art

I’ve done the opposite, I switched from arts to tech. Being able to use programming to create art is fantastic. I can clearly remember the days where creating images _always_ was a manual task (I used Adobe Photoshop at the time). Now I wou
