Lots of real estate between "might prefer to deny it" and "untraceable." On HN at least, you should assume the best possible interpretation instead of putting words into mouths. And yes, malfunction is the most likely ca

An accidental strike is unlikely. Either a massive malfunction, or maybe ASAT [1]. ASAT is always going to be a possibility from now on simply because the target might prefer to deny getting hit. [1] https://www.armscontrol.org&#

The obvious follow-up question would be: is there a correlation between specific nationalities and the fraction of "unknown cause" deaths?

I would take the 'Twitter isn't dying' posts with a grain of salt. Of course the same can be said about the 'Twitter is already dead' narrative. The latter isn't being pushed by a large PR operation, though.

I just meant that if they were to take a chance and travel, they could get picked up. It's not much of a deterrent against future interference, but at least it's less of a mockery of the laws to defend democracy.

Sanctioned and wanted people like to travel too. Prigozhin was flying his private jet all over Africa IIRC. Until a few years ago there were probably no repercussions at all for destroying democracy by trolling. I agree it's not much,

Does the other party have an effective ad out there? No problem. Just find some theory under which it's not OK, and have your department of XYZ send a cease-and-desist letter to the media outfit. Works even better if the outfit in ques

Everything you wrote is correct. However, Mexico is actually an immigration success story. The net migration flow is around zero [1]. The big picture comes down to supply and demand. Today's supply is from specific countries: Venezuela

The other people on the boat don't have a duty to cater to you. You can't just threaten to sink it if the primaries don't go your way. If you fail to find allies and fix the primaries, you still have a duty to keep the boat (
