Not quite the same outcome. One brings into existence games that probably wouldn’t have been made otherwise - and the investor takes the risk of the game bombing. The other is primarily to deny the competition access to long running popular

Let me put it this way: Sony funds developers = PlayStation gets “extra” games that otherwise wouldn’t exist. No one else is affected. Microsoft buys Activision = long running Activision franchises (eventually) become MS exclusive. Xbox gai

Aren’t most of those cases Sony funding the development of a game? I.E. If it does well, great, Sony has a new IP. If it bombs, then it’s Sony’s money down the drain. I can only see it benefiting the market since certain games might not hav

Speaking of YouTube, I wonder if Google will get into the game. The recent blackout has shown that Google search is kind of reliant on Reddit - a lot of top links go to Reddit. I mean Google Search will adapt if Reddit vanishes but why deal

More of a “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”. P.S. My pet theory why Apple is so controlling about what kind of apps are allowed is to prevent “embrace, extend, extinguish” tactics. Imagine if MS created dev tools for iOS that produce apps

People are happy with the way things are. Why are you trying to mess with their things? If they want to use a phone that’s restricted to a walled garden App Store, that’s none of your business. Will you be taking responsibility if there are

The only thing saving your 3390 from irremovable bloatware is its weak hardware. If bloatware could be install it would be as Nokia like most phone makers will try to curry favour with the carriers to get them to promote their phones. Apple

Irremovable bloatware was a big reason I stuck with Apple. I hate that crap so much - so much of it is poorly written trash that does nothing but advertise the carrier’s other services every freaking day for the device’s life span.
