Cool! Since I learned Rust I've wanted a Django replacement that has the functionality of a batteries included Web Framework + the speed/footprint of Rust. I'll check it out!

Sometimes at bedtime my cat will go to the door and scream nonstop. I don't know why he does it. Maybe it is for food or attention. But the only way I have found to get him to stop is to pick him up, put him on his special pillow, squi

This could be done cheaply with some rooted Kindle Fire tablets. I don't follow 100% but it sounds cool.

It could be that I just haven't written enough Rust to encounter this issue. Thanks for the insight!

I am surprised we don't see more "Dr. Doolittle" projects like this. I assumed rats or corvids would be good candidates for animal language translation projects since you can keep them in a confined space and record video of

Julian Jaynes[1] makes a pretty compelling argument that our unconscious mind does pretty much all of the heavy lifting with regards to problem-solving. The conscious mind just steers us and lets us remember what we are doing. If I recall c

Before I had cats, I used to think of them in terms of other animals. What I mean is that a dog or a horse is very defined by its skeletal structure. They are like popsicle stick armatures with some flesh thrown on. Now I think of cats more

There are long periods of figuring out the domain model. Then figuring out the specification of a program. Then a lot of continuous writing until I find a flaw in my domain model. Revisit my previous assumptions, saw and sand away at some r

You offer a hypothetical that has no basis in reality. A better real-world example is people using their collective bargaining power, which slightly inconveniences me and other consumers. As it happens, this is a frequent occurence, and I a

There is a good "Behind the Bastards" episode about this event. Also the Chagossian man in the Wikipedia article is incredibly jacked. I am assuming that physique is just from physical labor but holy cow.

I don't know how it works exactly, but I believe you can have a fully in-memory SQLite database. Bun's sqlite library and SqlAlchemy both let you operate on in-memory SQLite db's which you can then write to disk. Edit: readin

I sat down one weekend to try and make a demo in Bevy. The ECS system was cool, it's almost like querying a database. However every tutorial I found, even the most recent ones, were already outdated. They had just moved from 0.14 to 0.
