That sounds like a really, really bad idea. No one likes the idea of Germany or France taking over other European countries. We've been there...

This literally just happened to a VPS of mine. Time was jumping forwards and back, every second the time could jump an hour ahead and back. Everything screwed up, from log rotation to sessions. My first thought was that this was some kind o

That is simply western culture and nothing inherent. Whether you like it or not, you'll see women swarming to IT/programming/CS soon enough. Just the smart men are no longer enough. The smart women are needed as well. There is huge demand f

Some games solve this by rearranging the pointers/values for the target platform on installation (or first load of a data file). On platforms where you don't have installation phase (such as consoles) a fixed endianness can be assumed.

But what about the high-level stuff? When is a design "good", what colors should you use, etc. Such information is very hard to find on Google. Learning programs such as Photoshop and Inkscape, IMO, is the easy part. There are so many tutor

What does the title even mean? Doesn't seem like the article explains it either, or what the rationale for this bold statement is. It's basically "Women take less risks so they are better" all over again. Which is very debatable. I wonder w

Personally I found Trinity very good. The story starts in the cold war, and then takes you into a weird alice-in-wonderland like dimension, where you have to visit various places before a nuclear bomb hits. The Enchanter, Sorcerer, Spellbre

How is BeautifulSoup "outdated"? It's meant for making it easy to scrape non-properly-formatted sites, and works very well at that, as I've found out in practice. What's the advantage of Scrapy?

Banning the application could be justifiable (don't know the details), but removing everyones user photos just because they were uploaded with a certain tool, wow, that's messed up. I simply don't have words for it.

To be fair, though, not only Linux suffers from these problems, but all non-windows OSes. There is a standard for power management and such, ACPI, but vendors decide not to follow it but do their own thing and put in all kinds of hacks so t

For a lot of things I feel I don't need to run a modern IDE. Gcc + a text editor does fine, or something light like Qt Designer. This is why I explicitly added "if you don't use eclipse" :-) You have to be a bit creative with resources, i
