I don't get the convenience argument for wireless earbuds. I am the only person in our family without wireless earbuds, so I see wireless buds users up close daily, and it's a pretty common occurrence that someone can't find

Two are optional, and the other 3 are just for a small script to convert the one mardown file to HTML and push it live (of which one (awk) you likely already have on your system). It's actually pretty minimalist. Most tone deaf thing y

I quit my big-tech job 4 years ago and it feels like that was just in time. I don't think I would enjoy the current way. I still program a lot, but as a hobby, and still thoroughly enjoy the craft. I sometimes ask chatgpt for a functio

Right now on page 2 of actual HN: "how to hack discord, vercel and more with one easy trick". For a moment I thought I was still on clickbait HN.

I haven't looked at Apple in a long time. The page reads like a parody, and I had to double check that I was actually on apple.com. The whole industry seems to be in a place where everyone just accepts that most good things are now rui

I don't always like HN titles but this made me realize it can be a whole lot worse. Thanks for this.

I sold my Nintendo Switch when I stopped playing with it. Then a year or so later I really wanted to play Breath of the Wild again, because it's just so beautiful, and bought another Switch just for that.

It can be both. You can enjoy family time, and still be happy with alone time. I love getting up at 5 am, when everyone is still asleep and the house is still quiet. But I also love spending time with the family once everyone's day sta

Are you commenting on the title? If yes, I was about to do the same. I've seen this more often lately on HN and don't understand the reason. The actual title doesn't have a question mark, so the poster decided to add one and

Not trying to correct you, just looking for the right word. Digital isn't the right term here, because CDs are also digital. I'm trying to come up with the word for the opposite of physical media, but strangely I can't. Maybe

My daily driver is an X1 Carbon gen 5. 8 years old by now, but runs Arch (btw) flawlessly. I had an M1 MacBook Air before this and I actually prefer the old ThinkPad (but I do miss the MacBook's battery life)
