I have an old iPad Mini (2nd or 3rd gen, can’t remember) that would make a perfect controller for my Sonos speakers. Its hardware is more than capable enough. Except the Sonos app requires a version of iOS that this iPad can’t run. Sometime

He never actually said that though. It’s attributed to him a lot (on “inspirational” quote sites, printed on mugs etc) but apparently there’s no proof he actually said that.

My cheap tablet doesn't want to smoothly render the linked site but going by the comments, it doesn't answer its own question. I was, however, asking myself the complete opposite question the other day, when browsing Aliexpress. W

Another great YouTube math guy is Eddie Woo. They’re recordings of him teaching high school math, and he does such a great job at engaging his class (and viewers).

Schools are a hot topic these days where I am (Quebec) as we're going into the fifth week of schools being closed in our area because of strikes. Someone I was talking to the other day wondered how the schools would catch up this huge

Even though it's way more powerful than my first computer, it uses only a fraction of the energy. So yes, in a way maybe you're abusing a pretty powerful computer to do some silly gadget thing, but there's no real negative im

I find it amazing to think that your Christmas lights are now way more powerful than my first computer.

I was hoping to do a similar thing recently, hoping to be able to reverse engineer an LCD screen from a digital picture frame I got at a thrift store for a couple of dollars. I thought I might be able to use it as a screen for my 6502 homeb

I am Dutch, and I agree the Dutch complain a lot. For example, when travelling, and looking for the right gate at the airport for the flight back home, it’s often easiest to look for the area where people look like they’re discussing the st

I rarely carry my cell phone. I often even don’t know where it is. For telling time, I have an F-91W. It does a great job at that (except for when it’s dark, the silly light only barely illuminates the left side of the screen). I don’t know

I do quite a bit of 6502 assembly (hobby only). And the only types of multiplications I’ve needed were either multiplying by a power of 2 (often if I’m using a data table where an entry is 2 bytes long and I need to calculate the index into

I’ve read a couple of texts by Paul Lockhart. His opinion (which I support) is that what is taught in high school as math isn’t math, as in what a mathematician does. As an example: Pythagoras proved the relation between the lengths of the

I’m using my original iPhone SE (2016). I replaced the battery a couple of weeks ago, and I’m often at 80% by the end of the day. For regular phone use, I find this phone is perfect. So small you don’t feel it in your pocket, and still does

Aren’t WAI and STP only on the 16 bit versions? EDIT: just looked it up, and you’re right! The 65C02S has them. I thought I saw in the WDC programming manual that it was on the 16 bit version. I’m going to play around with those a bit :-)

For me two’s complement started making sense when I realized that for example when you subtract 1 from 0, regardless of using signed or unsigned, you get 11111111 (assuming 8 bits). Using two’s complement, we just interpret it as -1, but th
