I'd say it mostly depends on what you work on, and that is not "a field" or "a job". I've had jobs where yes, I could easily be on phone support during the tasks and I've had projects that were usually hou

People are different. I can usually even answer a question on Slack without breaking concentration but if someone is talking to me everything's gone. Same as going to fetch a glass of water. In the office? Locking the computer and walk

Those 1$ offers usually come with just a single 10GB disk, so pretty useless for storing anything. Unless you manage to store the files elsewhere, which will probably have costs again.

You can't really say one is "superior" or even objectively better. Apple's touchpads are <unspecified amount> better than others but I still hate them and would always use a trackpoint (if I can't have a mouse

Two companies ago we had an actual old traffic light hooked up to that, but that was maybe a bit over the top.

The problem is that all the old digital cameras I have at hand are either too old or not high-price-segment enough to support any sort of looping video through, which is a shame. I have 2-3 of those and while they're not awesome, the v

Wow, I have a semi-old Sennheiser PC 320 G4ME (with a cable) and the hw mute has never let me down, also I'm pretty sure it's actually in HW, so how would the software fail?

Where would you draw the line for people to be an actual maintainer? Stars on Github for your project? A committee? Does it work if I have 2 users?

Even as someone who likes unique logins with email and usernames, I just double checked my Github account and I've used that to log in to 6 sites. As I finally deactivated my Twitter account last week and didn't check... I'm

Sometimes I'm wondering where you draw the line between influencer, "youtube personality", and "person with quite a few followers" though. I mean, on a basic level the third category seems to not even live (or just

I'm not sure the shape of the earth is good example here, because I, as someone not doing any geodesy professionally or at all, can accept the "sphere" as such a good enough approximation, like probably millions do. Every m

I see. I don't have kids but from what friends have told me, something like "only allow Peppa Pig and Sesame Street" sounds kinda useful. Guess it depends on the age.

I dunno, I've used Qt. You can argue that it's not "proper windows development tooling" and I can argue that 90% of apps I've written in my life have benefitted from being cross-platform. Happy to be corrected here,

Maybe it depends what you see as "littering" - when I'm talking the city center here, without bike racks, people 99% line them up against the walls of the houses, or lock them on to streets signs, which are usually ~30cm from
