Can only speak for myself but I have several groups of people I've met online 10 or 20+ years ago, chat with online ranging from daily to weekly, and about half of them I meet in person once to several times per year. No clue if it

I've repeatedly tried to make Puppet work for "small" installations, be it a single dev laptop, our fleet of default base VMs (before containers were a thing), or home use. You couldn't really do anything without communi

Maybe that's the spirit but you'll always have people who would like a clock on the wall, always visible and others who don't, but don't mind touching a button for it to light up. So I think "calm" can't b

> This goes way back. In the 1930s, there was a thing for radios with One Knob. Here's a 1950s TV ad for that.[1] There was a long period during which radios and TVs had a large number of knobs to be adjusted to get decent results.

I think it doesn't really enter the equation. The single worst lecturer I've had at university is now a professor. I don't enough about tenure tracks and we also call them differently (not adjunct, associate, etc) - but he&#x

Some of the noise is also there in German, cf https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bergfried (the English page has the same name, but does not mention Burgfried). Just an example, could be very well unrelated.

Not sure if this is supposed to be sarcasm, but only from the direction of "lock the developers in a room and look what surfaces after half a year". Picking what to work on for [time] without external additions is a pretty good im

Not your fault, but I think it's such a silly argument. About 90% of my problems arise when I shift the parens, e.g. going from `(+ (1 2))` to `(+ (+ 1 2) 3)` or the other way round - and if there is now ) or )) at the very end (but mo

"Team A was victorious" doesn't sound out of place to me (ESL) though. Also pretty sure I've seen victory being used in a sense of "destroying the other team" - but I'm not defending its use.

They should have done the math just how often you buy a vacuum or a fridge though, because I observed the inverse effect. Buy vacuum -> 6 months of suggestions for vacuums and then nothing, not the other way round.

Yes, I also think around 2008 or so the most widespread use of Flash might already have been newgrounds et al. I don't remember really ever caring for Flash on Linux though. I do remember writing CMS backends for Flash websites in 2001

Not sure how it is today but in the late 90s it felt like we had a section about Nazis and WW2 every year in high school (in Germany). Yes, I get it, it's important - but it's not important to rehash it every year for 9 years. Tha

Ignoring the cost, do you have a parking garage with your rental apartment? Or street parking? My problem here is _where_ to charge, much more than what it would cost. And by "charging at home" I am not limiting it "your own
