It would be good if it was true, though. Just to wake them up.

And Marco is probably right too. The headline and journalistic newsworthiness level of this article is questionable though. It's just a tweet. And now we are even going to discuss it.

You're definately on to something here. Not sure if "Inspiration" is the right wording. Perhaps this could be configurable. I personally do not need "Resources" or dairy features in my tasklist system. (Then again,

Thanks for the explanation. I thought Unix and Linux had something to do with eachother, but looking at the downvotes, I was wrong :D

It surprises me how many others here have 17" Macbook Pro's. I thought I was the last man standing. But it's true, changing the HD with SDD, and it even runs Sierra fine. But also: it shows that under Jobs, they were making w

So OSX has nothing to do with unix/linux?

It actually reads like a solid fiction book, except that it isn't. You can skip a few dozen "romance" pages here and there and then it's really worth your while.

I read that the NeXT, let's call it, "adventure", is the reason Apple went with a Linux distribution as basis for their new OS and thus, we're all using OSX now?

That's great to hear. Have you read Jobs' biography and do you think everything said about Pixtar around those times are accurately portrait?

Maybe someone should do a kickstarter project for this: to get a decent Linux distro well designed. Hah!

Had the same thing. Turns out, I'm more of a design snob then I thought I was. Trying to move away from macOS and trying out Windows and a few Linux distro's, my god it's all ugly. I don't care much about Apple hardware

Would be a nice gesture of Obama on his way out. Just to soften the broken promise of not being able to close Guantanamo.

As a consumer I couldn't be more then delighted by the Amazon (customer) service. However, when I read how they threat their employees: it sounds horrible. Let's hope they never get to the tipping point that they can threat Restau

Very nice work there. Could you share the name of the fulfilment company (or a similar), Google gives me here some rather traditional results. Outsourcing support would be of great help.

On the pinboard.in/popular page, it would be useful to have an icon linking to the HN discussion. In fact, lets also have one to the Reddit discussion. If someone has some time, this could be a useful extension.

I tried (bought) sendy.co and it seems quite buggy. I'm still looking for something self-hosted, where any SMTP provider can be plugged into, and that does not look like its 1993. As I have some non-techies that need to work with it.

Its also a good side by side graphic comparison of both OSes. With a bit of effort, Unity could look much better.

Nice that he did opensourced it. I personally never understood why this tool was so popular to start off with though. I often found myself using the original doc sites instead.
