Oh wow this is great! It's been years since I switched to Mac from Windows, but I really can't get used to this even now. The split seems so illogical and in almost all cases I need exactly what alt+tab is on Windows.

This is very cool! We're actually building an editor/IDE of sorts from scratch, but specifically for "todo.txt" ( https://thymer.com if you're interested). I think a lot of parts of your spec would fit re

Interesting, I also keep coming back to text files for productivity, because of the speed and simplicity. Some of the points the author mentions though like due dates, a journal/schedule and version history still aren’t really solved v

I'm not entirely convinced the cloud magically makes all these things low maintenance? A lot of the work seems to depend on how simple your architecture is, cloud or no. I also read about plenty of things that go wrong on the cloud: mi

Another interesting problem with the weather sometimes is "high" temperatures, negatively impacting the friction characteristics of the blue ice runway.

Yes, this is definitely something to keep in mind. Especially when bootstrapping (what the post seems to be aimed at), building integrations with a marketplace can be a significant time investment, at the expense of working on other marketi

Closing the gap between server and client in terms of app development is definitely the answer. Also agree with the pitch that the currently popular approach of simply moving everything to the client has made tooling incredibly complex (alt

Great article. Related to charge more : don't dismiss a higher price point outright as "probably being high-touch only"; it's worth testing. We have a $999/month plan for example which we still sell on a low-touch
