Nope, I totally agree. Most of the complaints I'm seeing are valid, but a lot of people see Twitch as a dying platform when in reality it's just getting bigger and bigger. There was a momentary huge spike in viewership during covi

The U.S. needs to establish a process for collecting externality taxes from companies. Of course, it's impossible to track all externalities, but certain ones might be easier to track and it would make companies think twice before gett

Looks interesting, especially around their "multiplayer" editing. I wish them success, we need more serious competition in this space. VSCode is so damn good I probably won't switch, but if this came to parity with some featu

This is exactly why I find no solution fits all here. For me, I use an ORM as a catch-all and then for certain applications I manually write the queries. It's best of both worlds, and I know what components in my app have custom querie

Ever since iPhone introduced Lidar, I've wondered why Teslas got rid of it. They said it was due to additional cost and complexity in models. Of course Waymo heavily uses Lidar but they have huge sensors they mount on cars to do so. Wh

I don’t think that year figure changing really matters though. Let’s say Germany halves its CO2 output in 25 years instead. What does that mean? Does it mean we should all stop buying EVs now and just buy combustion engine vehicles for eter

Hydrogen is even harder to find than charging infrastructure. It’s not easy to convert a gas station into a hydrogen station. To me the two solutions revolve around simple battery tech. 1. Charging stations like we have now but 100x as many

Lovely read. I’ve been in TS and React land for a year now and it’s been so great but as our codebase grows I do see the walls closing in a bit. Signals are interesting, I wonder what react could look like if they supported them more native

Yep! I’m full stack and have no clue why some people want to say frontend engineering is “less than” backend. It’s all a means to an end. The product requires both sides equally in most cases, and neither side is trivial.

Agreed, this is how company communication should be. I don't use Fly but would consider them in the future even given their recent issues. I look at this in contrast to Twitter who had/has? an outage today. Their leadership is opa

I don’t think that’s how this works. Amazon doesn’t print money when they give employees stock. They give x% of the company as stock (where x is a really really small number). They might give less or more depending on a number of factors, b
