Then write about that - that's not the clickbait angle they have gone for. A large chunk of that 36% can be explained by inflation - heck perhaps until now they have been artificially keeping the base price low to capture marketshare -

But they specifically refer to the price of the old model as $329 which doesn't include the keyboard. They are moving the goalposts to try to make this a story. It isn't a story, it's nonsense.

PS4 has sold 117m units (around 1m in the past year) and Switch has sold 104m so far (around 20m in the past year). You can bet Switch will overtake it very soon...

Nintendo Switch has sold 100m+ units - over 20m of which were in the last year. It's by no means obsolete, it just serves a different market than the one you're interested in.

Hah! I never imagined DOOM as a use case when I was designing the Badger 2040 - how foolish of me, in hindsight it's obvious! How far did you get with it? Any video of the end result?

You can shut down power almost entirely with circuitry to trigger a wake from sleep when pressing a button. It's no RTC but a compromise we made to hit the price point and allow for a very long battery life!

Plug: we have designed a range of RP2040 based dev boards for different tasks which make prototyping/evaluating the platform a breeze - and it's an exciting platform with what it offers for the price. The PIO especially is an extr

Thanks! We're really proud of it, and it's a heck of a lot of fun too - there's something a bit magic about running an old VGA monitor off this little piece of silicon. The PIOs allow you to offload actions like outputting th

It looks like you can take a Raspberry Pi (Zero variant or 3A+ should all work since they support gadget mode) with camera module and have it behave as a USB webcam. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14

We (Pimoroni) have a solution coming for this! The Pi4 has changed the landscape a bit with respect to cooling so everyone has had to adjust. :-) If you reach out to me directly (e-mail in profile) I'll make sure we send you an early s

Interestingly we (also a Raspberry Pi Approved Reseller) tested these heatsink cases with fans attached and found that the fans didn't improve thermals due to the manner in which they are mounted. In the end we decided the extra cost,

@mindcrime - I can't reply to you due to max depth. The current version doesn't, we're having a new, custom, fan made with an RPM feedback line for a future model but it'll be a couple of months yet.

By default it's always on. If you (optionally) install the daemon then it can use the Pi SoC's internal temperature sensor to control dynamically based on need.

You really don't need a heatsink as well, the SoC has a heatspreader pre-installed. Fan SHIM will take your Pi 4 well below throttle temperatures even at full load! We posted some results on our blog (there is a more in-depth post to c
