Destructors will execute in the reverse of declaration order, so if initialization order doesnt match declaration order, and some members depend on each other somehow, things will break. At the very least, it could be surprising. Not a prob

The more time passes, the more I feel like dynamic linking of anything but plain C interfaces is just a bad idea.

The problem is the max path size. There was a similar problem on Linux, where you have a max number of symlinks you can follow before the system gives up. Macos works because finder resolves symlinks and opens the target directly.

The one feature I feel is missing now is attaching to multiple tailnets from the same client. Since you can configure address ranges, I could set up non-overlapping ranges on my personal and work tailnets, and then use both on my phone, for

Seems kinda backwards. I would say a video game is like a job but (hopefully) without the bad parts. I'm making a puzzle game, so the comparison to dev work is pretty obvious. The difference is when you play a puzzle game, you know the

A better workaround would be to call __HrLoadAllImportsForDll[1]. Delay loading lets you defer grabbing function pointers from a dll (normally until the first call of that function). But if you call __HrLoadAllImportsForDll from the addon&#

As someone who works with low level video processing code fairly regularly - codec patents are demonically awful. I can't even begin to imagine how much better everything would be for everyone if they just died.

Yes, I know there's some differences in what you're doing here from classic deterministic lockstep, but the fundamental concept of syncing a queue of inputs from which the game state can be derived, instead of syncing the game sta

For reference, this strategy is called "deterministic lockstep" in the gamedev world, and is used especially often in games which have many entities which need their state synced. The canonical example is rtses, which pretty much

Coming at this from a gamedev perspective - imo, if you can, the best solution is to never use colour alone to convey information. For example, you can have a blue and a red thing, but the blue one also has spots. Or it's a dark blue

Agreed. And I think approaches like python or node, where you need to write some c code against their API, is getting it wrong also. The most smooth interop experience I've ever had is with c#. You just export normal c functions from a
