Note: If you use scala, escape analysis can be particularly helpful. The "pimp my library" pattern for extending classes involves creating wrapper objects, and these can often be optimized away. http://www.decodified.com/scala/2010/08/27/s

Ah makes sense - Latency ought to be fine in the same availability zone.

So I properly understand, this is centralized redis hosting on their servers? Isn't the latency gonna be a killer?

Well good luck with everything. Assuming the surgery goes fine, there aren't any long-term effects besides having to get vitamin B12 injections every few weeks (since your terminal ileum is where your body absorbs most of it), but itll be a

As someone who no longer has his terminal ileum (Crohn's), I wish him the best, hopefully he can get better without surgery. Its really not something you want to go through if possible...

Maybe its just me, but I have no issue with the size and weight of the 15" MBP (again, this could be because I came from previous larger 15" laptops). But I would love to see the optical drive dropped in place of more battery life.... Oh, a

"Database" isn't entirely correct, its a distributed K/V store. Maybe its just me, but the word database implies a lot of additional functionality that Voldemort doesn't have.
