This seems to be fairly similar to Go. Given I don't know too much about either, what are the major differences?

I wonder if this was related to the crappy weather in the south bay? My power was out for from 8 until 8:45ish (PST). Of course, I would hope their datacenter has a UPS and generators...

...Or otherwise acquired them. This is a letdown for how much they were hyping it out. Was I too optimistic to hope for something that I would actually never forget, like cloud-based iTunes?

Seems like a nice system, my only question is how do you get this data? Just students self-reporting?

It'll probably work well as a thin client to ssh into a dev server, although the resolution is a little low for my liking (especially the 11")

Ah, I see in the "Extras" page. The pricing seems dumb though-they want $20/mo extra for 360mb of ram, but for an additional $20/mo I might as well update my 512 to a linode 1024 and get an additional 512mb of ram, as well as more cpu power

You could set it up by allowing sshing to a server on a subdomain something like ssh.xyz.com or vpn.xyz.com and from there can ssh to production servers, which are set up to only allow ssh internally.

As someone familiar with Java/Scala but not Clojure, what exactly do those type hints do? Just prevent it from autoboxing the primitives? Avoid excessive reflection? Can this be done for other types or just int/long/float/etc?

Not to my knowledge. The problem isnt just data that could be serialized between app servers-Its the closures associated with the sessions (eg for submitting forms).
