This basic implementation fact has been misrepresented over and over and over again. Does anyone read anymore? I’m starting to get really concerned. The hacker community is where I’ve turned to be more informed, away from the clickbait. But

I also believe Apple doesn't really want to scan your photos on their servers. I believe their competitors do, and they consider this compromise (scan on device with hashes) is their way of complying with CSAM demands while still maint

Both the US government and Chinese government can get whatever they want from both iCloud and IMessage. Best not to use it for anything that could make you a target of theirs.

The US has a rather weak central government. The Chinese-style social credit system isn't necessary, because private corporations already do it. Scanning your ID when you return things, advertising profiles, etc.

I kind of agree with you there. Isn't it just another toggle? Surely if the entire feature is opt-in, the blurring could be a toggle, as well as the notification.

Parents cannot be notified when a child between the ages of 13 and 17 views a blurred photo, though children that are between those ages will still see the warning about sensitive content if Communication Safety is turned on.
