I still live in fear of the day some time down the road when all the people far smarter than me start writing articles titled "Why Function/Reactive/Reactifluxidux architecture was a horrible decision". That's the

I think my biggest issue is how clear it was that he had something to say about the state of American prisons in the 21st century and the depiction of sensitive political topics in video games, then just lopped off all the rest of the conte

My issue with Bogost's article was that he missed one of the core mentalities that went into designing the game: that you are only the architect. The prison industrial complex's main causes aren't rooted in the way prisons a

I believe this was GitHub's justification for it early on. The barrier to reading (but not necessarily writing) CoffeeScript is so low for a JavaScript dev that it's basically non-existent. I'm moving my code towards ES6 an

Absolutely phenomenal. Reminds me a lot of the older Maxis games like SimTower. Simplistic yet complex at the same time. The recent addition of escape mode adds some much needed flavor and the campaign is a perfect way to learn how to pl

It honestly feels a lot like all the kids in the neighborhood just got new mountain bikes and you're still using a scooter. You can usually keep up, but as soon as they go off the road, you're on your own. VMs are 100% the way to

I'm very curious as to why this is diverging from the "Ember Way" and not using http://www.ember-cli.com/ It's an officially supported approach that is under very active development and (at least ostensi

Fair warning. Chromebooks don't support Java browser plugins (arguably a plus) and some big colleges still need them for their student websites. Something that you'd want to check out first.

I entered this industry in February 2012, but his essays have still had a major impact on me as a developer. Part of the credit for this goes to Jeff Atwood, who has retained a lot more visibility than Joel, for frequently linking back to

I think the real answer to this one is not really. Most of the possible attacks are either unrealistic or only possible if you're doing something stupid to begin with. That said, there is still no excuse to trust user input. Always p
