Yeah sure. I suppose you’d also say that it’s simply incompetence that Apple refuses to open Google Maps, the most widely used map app, when I click on a link to somebody’s address in my contacts app. Oh and it just so happens that I can’t

I haven’t seen one explanation that makes any sense. Care to link to one in any of these threads here, on Twitter or reddit that made sense to you?

Wow, not really. The point is that the vast majority of apps are never featured and you know it. Everybody that’s paying the 30% still has to do their own marketing. Discovery through the app store is absolute shit. You’re trying to argue t

Great! So, I am guaranteed to get featured in exchange for my $100 per year developer license and a 30% cut of my sale price?

Yeah, but not when you dictate the same sentence. My main complaint is that they insist that they own "app store" when the courts already told them that they don't.

Right, because that's exactly what I said. Apple won't want to have 5 different systems for 5 different regions of the world. They'll streamline everything into one app store model that works for everybody.

Nobody finds apps through the app store. They find them on Google and click a link that opens the app store.

Those are all things that you have no choice in. You can’t install an alternative to Siri. You can’t use a different push notification system. You can’t use an alternative store and send updates yourself.

I have and I found C# to be somewhat painful compared to JS in some respects, but good in other ways. There are a lot of little conveniences that are missing. There is no destructuring, no first-class functions (i.e. can’t declare functions

Your analogy is wrong. You said, “ when I switched to only eating polenta.” but it should have been “ when I switched to only cooking polenta.” Only eating one type of food is crazy. Nobody does that and if they do, it’s not fun. However,

The revolution may not be televised... but couldn’t it be streamed? I want to see people use live streaming to debate first, but then organize so effectively to just swarm on the old systems to make change. People need to move faster.

If Apple gets attacked for this around the world, the change will come to the US. I’m looking forward to it because Apple is one of the most petty companies I’ve ever had the displeasure of being forced to deal with as a mobile software d
