In situations where it's unlikely calling a method will result in a NoMethodError, i prefer rescuing the exception over checking if the method exists first. This will be faster when it does not result in a NoMethodError. In the "E

I like the UI, especially after they adopted Chrome's "don't resize the tabs when the mouse is in the tab bar and the user is closing tabs" feature. The only thing I really miss in Safari is searching websites using a pr

I think GitHub needs a "+1" button for issues. It'll give maintainers some insight as to what priority to give an issue, without spamming them with e-mails. Asking users not to comment with comments such as "+1", or

I'm just guessing, but I think the breaking of the middle pane would damage the outer pane anyway, since the pressure is coming from inside. That would leave you with two broken panes.

I've been using a one-liner git alias to do this for a while now. Works really well. It uses git grep for grepping/colouring the output and sed to remove prefixed whitespace.

The difference is obvious, scrolling is much less laggy. However, it does completely break the smooth scrolling on OS X (Safari).

OpenBSD is already quite popular. It runs on plenty of routers. Routers have very high attack value.

Interesting. I'm not on the latest OS X yet, but that's good to hear. Might be enough to make me switch.

I'd like to use Safari (instead of Chrome) but there's a couple of things holding me back. - No omnibar with custom search engines by keyword. I use this extensively. - Closing multiple tabs is annoying, because they resize. Chrom

Or maybe it was window resizing. Either way, I believe that's the rationale behind it.

If i remember correctly, that's so you drag & drop a full window rather than a single tab.

I don't really see what purpose a WhatsApp web client serves to be honest. I was under the impression WhatsApp replaces SMS. It's linked to a phone number, so linked to a phone.

Your user sessions should be short, preferably. If I take a long time to find what I need, you have a badly designed website (or an uninteresting one). Unless you're trying to make a time-sink website like imgur, that is.

µBlock does have an option to disable "first-party" and "third-party" scripts. It's configurable globally and per-site (per-site takes precedence). I don't think it blocks Flash. I let the browser to that anywa

This is how the website looks on my machine: http://i.imgur.com/j2bavtp.png . Horizontal scrolling only reveals more of the search results.

It does have scroll enhancement. It scrolls faster and keeps scrolling for a while after I've stopped scrolling, "easing out". I think this line is the culprit: <script data-rocketsrc="/static/js/

I've noticed many product pages these days do some "scroll enhancements" through javascript. This page seems to do that as well. It's very annoying! The page doesn't really explain what the bookmarklet does, only ho

It's a valid argument, but does not address any privacy issues. The author of µBlock describes it well: "Foreword: Using a blocker is NOT theft. Do not fall for this creepy idea. The ultimate logical consequence of "blocking

I think it unlikely someone would design something complicated like a new compiler / programming language, open source it and attach their real name to the project just to hide an exploit in it. There's much lower hanging fruit.

Does it matter? I think most people who download Game of Thrones illegally would not have downloaded it legally (e.g. pay for it) had it not been available for free. Demand is much larger when a product is free. I doubt HBO is missing out o

That's a fair point. I did not consider the limited range of colours on most terminals. Bold text might also be an option, though it wouldn't immediately distinguish between added and removed characters.
