I think we're only in a Facebook-fueled Social Network bubble. While at the same time, we are only at the beginning of genuine technology boom. Mobile and cloud computing tech isn't going to go away like a fad.

All big companies WILL buy support as that's what they do. No they won't. MIT license lets them use the software for free. Why woukd anyone pay anything if it can be used freely?

It's a herculean effort. I heard about Opa about a year or two ago, amazed he's still at it. Kind of like Haxe. I doubt they will go anywhere, like Coffescript, because any language that simply abstracts another is just cruft and doomed

The average human being is a complete imbecile. When they see any rectangular device that can make sounds and records sounds, they truly believe it is an iPhone. They're all like "whoa is that the new Iphone?". Really, regular people are

There is no way each of their users can possibly be worth that price. They've done a good job at hyping up the company, but from an investment standpoint, it's dead meat. They really need to pull a rabbit out of their hat at this point --

So presumably he's filed for a patent on this technique? Selecting text on a computer should not be patentable. But I bet it probably is because of how stupid the patent system is.

We'll still need several GB or TB of local storage, be it spinning disks, SSDs or permanent RAM. Yes I should have clarified -- I expect memristors to be on the market within a few years. Once they're ready I bet we'll see all l

Are we to imagine a future where consumers cannot purchase storage media? Yes that's coming. Many countries are starting to put tariffs on hard drives. And in my country, Canada, they also slow down your internet when downloading

I want a "cloud filesystem", but want it controlled by ME, not Apple, and not iCloud. That's the problem. Apple wants to control the filesystem, and I, and others are not willing to accept this horrific scenario.

Browser cache is around 1GB and web developers are itching for vast landscapes of local storage systems. We're moving toward a computing world where hard drives don't even exist. Within 3 years we may see devices that have only p

Mobile apps, especially iOS apps, are hobbled by their curators. iPhone's don't even have an open file system and the platform was purposely designed so that apps are isolated, and funneled through a strict paradigm. This most certainly i

The "All-Web" paradigm is coming, folks. And it really doesn't matter how much you love your iPhone, or your Android, or Windows phone. Native apps are toast, in the long run. Your data is moving to the cloud -- your pictures, your music

The OS market is fragmenting. This is precisely why the web will win. The time is already here where people have to decide whether to build a desktop app, a smartphone app, a tablet app, or a website that can support all three form

For an already funded company, that already has traction, I personally wouldn't consider a less than 1% equity offer. But for startup, that is still getting going, pre-revenue, I seriously would walk away at 5% or more because it is probab

Life before the internet was incredibly boring most of the time. It's pretty boring most of the time today too. It seems to me as if the more "painless" our society becomes (less hard labor, more free time, movies, and porn), the m

It's all about software delivery. Native apps, whether they be desktop or mobile based, will always pale in comparison to the simple act of clicking on a link, and immediately running the software - no downloads, no install, no headaches.
