This makes sense to me on a conceptual level, and I think that's more or less how it works here. The difference is I believe the company you pay is just whoever owns the local infrastructure, and they take care of buying / supplyi

I remember as a teen I'd go on Digg and open all the articles in separate tabs so that by the time I was done reading the text ones some of the images would be loaded on the ones with pictures. We've come a long way.

Both the town I grew up in and the town I currently live in have Municipal Broadband. So maybe I have a skewed view of the landscape.

This seems fairly unsurprising to me. Internet is a utility. Most people also don't have a choice in who they get electric, water, gas, etc. from. It's unfortunate that internet service quality is so varied from location to locati

My father in law had a running gag about wanting to do this for a couple years. Replace all the cabinets with dishwashers and just cycle between them.

Are there still places where brick construction is common? Any semi-modern building I've seen in my area is wood-frame with maybe a decorative brick facade on part of a wall. I can't imagine the cost of building a brick house make

Would you be equally confused if it was phrased the other way? "How many trade workers are even capable of going to Stanford?" People like to talk about "grit" in white collar circles. If you want to see real "grit&

Twitter is a much more niche product in my experience. Everyone and their literal grandmother is on Facebook. Twitter is mostly restricted to news junkies and the tech crowd.

As a Trump supporter, I agree with everything you wrote except the part where you call Trump a tyrant. The US shouldn't be the world's babysitter. Countries need to work together and not look to a single country for leadership.

Believing that you know me based on a few sentences you read online is pretty naive, to be honest. Edit: My email is in my profile. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to have an actual conversation instead of just name calling.
