Symphony makes $2500/month ( http://www.symphonytools.com ). Launched 4 months ago. Back in December, my co-founder and I spent 3 weeks brainstorming and wrote 25 business plans for 25 ideas. And then chose this one. Started

That's probably intentional. A lot of people would buy the higher plan simply to avoid buying the "hobby" plan.

Keep in mind it's a paid, and pricy, service with a very specific type of customer. Don't compare it to conversion rates of other services that have a wider audience. Tripling the conversion rate is huge for them, and no small tas

Agreed. I read it hoping to be convinced (wanting to be convinced), but it was too wordy and lacked a compelling argument. I do believe privacy is important and we should all care about it. But I also want to read a strong well-written argu

Same here, at first I thought it was a new app. We use it too, and usually call it Pivotal, for short.

Bootstrap 3 is not launched yet and Foundation 4 is. That's what I meant by "slightly ahead".

For comparison, also check Foundation 4.0, launched about 10 days ago. Foundation seems to be slightly ahead (as in, already launched) in moving to newer technologies (mobile-first, border-sizing:border-box, ..etc). http://www.zurb.com/art

My impression of Digg power users at the time was that many of them were participating in voting rings to promote each other's sites and a few were even making money pushing links to the home page. Not all of them of course, but the few tha

Agreed. I've been using App Engine for a while and bad customer service is my main issue with it. I can tolerate poor support for free products, but not for business products that I pay a lot for.

Interestingly, the Python code I've seen from Google uses 2-space indents rather than 4 as the style guide recommends. And that includes code written by Guido himself (AppStats and NDB, tools used in App Engine). I prefer 2 spaces as well,

Before blaming the 50% drop-off on Facebook, you should measure the drop-off of the ID/password approach and compare the two. I would expect the drop-off for any login method to be relatively high on mobile apps. Anyone has data they can sh

I was excited when I heard about it, but after 5 minutes I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's very well designed. But it didn't add value for me. I use GitX and I find it more useful, and has a better UI.

I believe you might've missed the point. The way to succeed is to set a higher goal and a bigger vision than your competition, not to make it your goal to destroy them.
