Do I understand correctly that this proposal does not include annotations (i.e. attributes). More specifically, with this I can iterate over struct members and get their names and types, but I cannot attach additional information to these m

Completely agree. The fact that there are still apps where the hamburger menu cannot be used properly without a mouse caused me to switch to KDE. Having certain menus accessible via Alt + Letter shortcuts is an accessibility requirement for

Something I find deeply funny about this is the amount of work invested here just to have the default background quality setting in Windows 10 still be < 100%. That's the Microsoft I am used to ^^

The primary goal is building tools that other (typically less tech-savvy) people can use to create various types of content (often video game related) and to semi-automate repetitive tasks. An example here would be our texture selection &#x

Do you happen to have any pointers or recommendations regarding C++ for desktop applications? Especially towards state-management and user-interaction? I am primarily doing game development and HPC; I am decently familiar with C++, but desk

For what it's worth, I've also encountered the insanity of build systems when using third-party libraries. At this point I am so fed up with them, that I typically try to "just build the source". This doesn't work a

Semi-related question: Is mailman still storing passwords in plain text? I remember a time, not that long ago, where I regularly got mails from mailman telling me my current password. Of course, people should never reuse their passwords any

The point is that Mozilla wants to use their own browser engine for Firefox on iOS for all users. While the change opens up the possibility to do this in the EU, it's only possible to do so in the EU. iOS users in the US cannot get thi

Better out-of-the-box desktop experience. Last time I tried Debian for desktop, I tried for 4 hours to get my bluetooth headphones to work. In Linux Mint (or Ubuntu) they just worked out-of-the-box.

My suggestion would be to first give Ubuntu-based distributions a try, like Linux Mint, Pop!_OS, or KDE neon. If there's still too much Ubuntu weirdness for your liking, try Debian. And if that doesn't satisfy your desktop needs,

No! Just because a game is on Steam does not necessarily mean it has DRM. The developer is in charge of what happens when the game is launched and the player does not own the game on Steam. Steam does not require you to shut down the game i
