My understanding is that foreign real estate buyers have also pushed real estate prices up. That said I think you make a lot of good points and crypto is about the only thing I disagree with you on.

If you have technology that can transfer a rock across the world in seconds then I would be interested in that. Same w/ crypto (with the added benefit of crypto not requiring a centralized entity to do so). My main point is let's

I think it is notable that Switzerland also has very favorable capital gains laws though, at least for private investors. Could hold stocks, gold / silver or crypto in Switzerland and not pay tax on gains as long as you hold them for

I've found that it can take longer than 15 minutes to get back in the groove. There is certainly something that happens while coding, i.e. "being in the zone". In my experience, it can take some time to get back to that hig

Zoom just works for me, but I use the desktop app. I don't mind that an additional window opens. After starting a meeting or joining one, I can close everything except the meeting window. If I want to leave a meeting, I just close t

Exactly. I decided never to use MongoDB after that. I was already gravitating back to relational DBs anyway. MongoDB was nice for fast iteration on new projects, i.e. no alter table scripts required, but in the end it wasn't really a

Zoom still has the best UX from what I can tell though, and they already have wide adoption. I've also started to hear Zoom as a noun in place of meeting, "let's do a Zoom", etc., even with people who don't work in

I've studied Vajrayana, so it may vary per school. Nothing wrong with self-effort from what I've been taught. The idea with mindfulness if that if you are just aware of your thoughts, but don't do anything, it's not tha

Yeah, I don't like the tribalism either. I see this with Democrats and Republicans in the US, too. One side thinks they are right. That seems to be a human thing. I do hope that progress can still be made. You are right though, it

Or Bitcoin was fine to start with and hasn't had a good enough reason to change yet. People can disagree, some did, forked the code, and went on their way.

Block size is a nuanced discussion and it was maybe a larger problem then you realize. Argument for big blocks: Faster and cheaper transactions (lower fee), as well as more transactions per second. Can use more like cash, i.e. Bitcoin Cash

Have you heard of Tezos? Tezos is often referred to as the first “self-amending” blockchain, which routinely adapts and adopts new features natively and automatically via its unique on-chain governance mechanism. This protocol functionalit
