I'd love to see some reports to back up that claim. Not that I'm rallying against solar power or anything, I'm just skeptical. I personally haven't seen anything about huge breakthroughs in solar power generation... not that I've been looki

Fair enough. The way it's worded really seems to target the public sector though. Maybe I'm just way out of touch, but has the cost of PV really come down far enough that it's cheaper for the average homeowner to generate solar power than t

Do their unlocked phones really work on non-approved carriers? I never really looked in to it, it's pretty cost-prohibitive. Also, that doesn't help people that want to buy used last-gen and save a few hundred bucks, or the people who are n

One word: unlock. Until the phone is on Tmo, the unlock is mandatory. As far as software, for me, SBSettings is vital. Apple still doesn't have a quick way to access Wifi, brightness, airplane mode and other settings, and until they do, I w

This struck me as a fallacy as well. Those subsidies won't be around forever, and last I heard, the PV cells aren't cost effective without them.

I don't know that the map itself offers much, but as the OP stated, it does help you quickly see who in your or any other state supports SOPA. I didn't realize there was anything below the fold though; when I see a large map like that, I as

I'd vote for "I'm letting my domain(s) on godaddy die, so there's no point in paying to move them." I guess "No" is the best fit for me.

I think this is probably their biggest problem too. I'm a pretty technical guy, maybe not up on the latest and greatest in the land of cell phones, but I get by. That said, I'm still not even sure if I can go buy a Windows Phone device yet.

I do this a lot, not just in book stores either. For me, it's the reviews. I see a book (or product) that looks interesting, make a note of it and check the reviews online (typically Amazon) to see if it's worth the purchase. If the reviews

That's a total cop-out. $200 is a fantastic price, but at that price, wouldn't you agree that the device should at least work correctly? Constant crashing, missed touches, really poor and sometimes unusable default applications... do you re

Are those air fields to the northeast? They have the same kind of coloring as the evaporation ponds, but the look like runways to me. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=40.49081,93.510867&... looks interesting as well. http://maps.

Yeah, I caught the video on Engadget too, but they don't actually flip through anything on the device, they just hold it and show you how it looks, then play a video on it. I want to know what the interface looks like, because the interface

I'm really anxious to see some comparison videos of the two. Just because the Nook Tablet looks better on paper doesn't mean it will be in practice. Amazon spent a lot of time on their interface and it actually looked pretty enjoyable to us

You DID notice the "Microsoft-approved" part there, yeah? Microsoft has backed this project since day one, as I recall, going as far as sending free WP7 phones to people active in the project for them to hack away at. They have dictated t

First good decision they've made in a while. Too bad they are unlikely to reverse the WebOS decision. I have to wonder how much this had to do with not finding anyone to buy it at a price they were willing to take.

Nintendo has said that none of the games for the system are allowed to require 3D to play, so I don't know if you should expect anything too groundbreaking there. I think the 3DS's biggest problem is the overwhelming success of the origin

Nintendo has always done that with their handheld game systems though, at least the successful ones. They iterate the thing to death and then come out with something new. The 3DS's problem is that it looks like simply another iteration of t
