I haven't used the more recent version of Angular so not sure what their "stack" is, but doesn't `create-react-app` take care of much of that?

This is a more modern Pynchon, but this paragraph from Inherent Vice (set in the very early days of computer adoption) made me laugh: > As usual these days, Fritz was back at the computer room, staring at data. He had that ask-me-if-I-gi

When he listed Gladwell as a source it immediately changed how I perceive the article. Perhaps I would eventually have come to take it as stretching the data to make questionable conclusions but the reference accelerated it.

I suspect a lot of people have this on their mind but the whole money-grab brouhaha made it bad manners to mention in civilized society. Better for those who are nevertheless on the bandwagon I guess. I do agree with you, though. I recently

As Vitalik and other people doing social-coordination research keep arguing - it's a matter of coordination and not of anybody being greedy. The feeling that your little donation means little is what keeps the whole swarm of users from

This is terrible, but let's not forget that this is actionable. Last presidential election Lawrence Lessig got onto Democratic ballot only to bring up the issue of influence of big money on the democratic process. Which is at the root

I think the commenter is suggesting that sometimes the mobility of your store of wealth is more important than volatility. Hard to argue that gold is easy to move or store. People from the US and Western Europe are prone to forget how volat

The idea that you should define a code of conduct first just sounds awful. The best small gatherings are organic and informal. This just (I'll use a word from somebody else in the thread) politicizes the whole thing. In other words, if

I am somewhat embarrassed, but also relieved to admit that I switched from vim (nvim to be precise) to VSCode (OMG M$FT!) and am very happy about it. I still use vim bindings as much as I can, but I guess giving up a bit of ideology can ben
