I hear ya, but the author of the article needed something that could be adopted _incrementally_. JS is a subset of TS. Throwing some typing onto a JS file is often trivial. Reason would be a whole different story. Learning curve alone...

Ah! Thanks. I imagined an intentional mix for some reason.

I don't understand the point of "two-phase" materials. Why would you add water to ore?

And so Hacker News gets hooked on a Paris Hilton reality show.

I have contemplated doing this for many years. I probably won't, but I am really excited about learning. Thanks!

I think that's the key! On a personal note - I have tremendous difficulty reconciling kindness and cynicism in personal relationships. This reached an apex when I was dating an extremely kind and energetic girl, but couldn't help

Could you elaborate on the "Tax the robots." bit? I am welcoming to the idea and curious what you mean in this case.

Yes, this is highly ironic.

Saying that there is no reason to buy a crypto-currency is absolutely false. You probably live in a Western country where you mostly trust the banking system and stability of your own currency. That is not the case in many other countries.

Well, we could also shop at the thrift shop a little more often. Disposable cheap crap is central to Western culture.

Part of getting people to pay you is - how easy it is to pay. One of the things I think are exciting is that projects like MetaMask basically integrate cryptocurrencies into your browser, making transaction very easy, safe (as safe as cryp

Yes, except you are 100% in control of what goes on on your server and could easily falsify data. The _whole_ point of cryptocurrencies is to avoid that.

I absolutely agree, the rhetoric here is unscrupulous. Voting is basic freedom of speech. Whether the vote compels anybody to anything is a whole different story.

I like 57 as much as the next guy and it's my main browser, but I still develop with Chrome, cause inspector is so much better :/

I'll diverge from the main topic here for a moment. When I moved to the US I was puzzled to discover that there're stores that specialize in mattresses. Later it became apparent that US has, what seems to me, a bizarre fascination

So, the more precise description of different types you could read about, say, on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_sclerosis#Types . To describe it briefly, though - there are different types, some appea

While some searching might clear it up, the fact that the article doesn't even mention which type of MS they are talking about is a little vexing.

Well, here's an example. The route between Moscow and St. Petersburg (about 400 miles, about the same as LA to SF) is a very popular train route. Flying between these cities makes no sense because a high speed train between them takes

Questioning the introvert/extrovert dichotomy rarely goes well on Hacker News or on any tech discussion forum, so it's a somewhat unusual that you are not being downvoted hard (even though it's a small part of your point).
