If someone starts throwing radioactive waste in the garbage I'd sure has hell expect the garbage company to step up and help/protect workers. Don't see how it's any different here.

Nope, just two pairs of bell tones on the same frequency. Simple FEC just works pretty well with parity bits, just needs to be supported on all encoder/decoders.

Does this do any sort of FEC? One of the things that makes stuff like this tricky(and APRS in general) is that one flipped bit throws off the whole decode. From what I've seen out there would be a 40% improvement[1] in just base APRS i

Another vote for fastmail. They even do a pretty decent job being a DNS host as well. Simple setup to add subdomains if you're already using them as your primary/sec NS.

Regardless of the whole ICBM issue even the suborbital stuff needs a 'license' too. When we went out to the desert to launcher the "bigger" stuff(class H to O) we had a waiver with the FFA each time with a launch ceiling

Yup, there's a fair bit of stuff that's intuitive to a seasoned engineer but it's great to have specific terms to talk about and describe it in. The "diffuse" vs "focused" thinking was a great example that

If you're looking to expand on this I can highly recommend rands[1] as a great source of a wide range of engineering topics. Good stuff not just for managers but anyone involved in the well-running of a team(which is everyone!). [1] h

Yeah, I've got a Benchmade Anthem which is easily one of my favorites(aside from the fact that the incredibly smooth action may qualify it as a gravity knife in some overly zealous jurisdictions), however the CPM-20SV is pretty hard to

Really big fan of S30V, it's a pretty decent blend of edge retention without being an absolute pain to resharpen. There's some really interesting specialty metals out there like Boye Dendritic Cobalt[1]. I've got one of their

I've mentioned it before but there's a chance for Rust to get better than most C code with the ability to implicitly mark mut& as restrict. Restrict is one of those very, very sharp tools that's usually only reserved for

Nah, it's deeper than that. Assembly is still just a series of commands with desired effects. HDLs are a description of physical hardware(minus IP blocks which are vendor specific). You're describing things down to the actual gate
