No, I mean the continued existence of WSUS and Configuration Manager. Although I find it really unclear. It says under CBB servicing, "When devices are being managed through Windows Server Update Services, the same workflows are execut

Strange, I have not had that come up yet. Maybe I have not installed the updates which cause it to auto re-enable yet :-)

That is for Windows 10 Pro, which as far as I can tell they are not even pushing on small business like us. I am seriously concerned though. It was hard enough transitioning to 7.

That doesn't seem to be what they claim in [1] for a managed environment. We are still using 2008 R2 and Windows 7, but it is getting to the point where we need to at least upgrade Windows Server. What a headache. [1] https:/&#

Why don't you roll back the the patch. Just search google for the KB number and uninstall. Then go into windows update and hide it. I did this on a couple of systems at work. edit : oops, I missed someone already posted it below.

That is pretty funny because decades ago we used to remotely compromise university HP 9000 systems, create new privileged accounts, and apply the latest patch sets to the system to close up any security issues. I would assume that is a pre

I remember going to see the SGI Origin 2000 installation at University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Pretty neat, I seem to remember they had a Cray T3E 900 and some J vector systems there too.

My only first hand experience is with Washington. When I was furloughed in 2008 it was relatively easy and pain free to receive benefits, at least by government standards. My room mate at the time was only able to find part time work in r

At least in Washington State, unemployment payout is almost immediate, within two weeks of losing your job. You can use the time before it runs out to apply for other federal or state assistance programs. These may take longer and have mo

This is the same reason I don't share anymore. I will post photos from a trip and my own parents wont see it in their news feed. It just feels like, "what's the point?", I might as well just e-mail them directly. Edit:

I wonder if MacOS X had been where it is today stability wise, weather Xserve and the G4 cube would have been such failures. The hardware issues with the cube most likely would have been worked out as they were with the iMacs of the same e

I really liked the Wyse 320? and used it for years until CRT died. It seemed to have the most diverse emulation support. Same deal with vt320 and HP 700/96 I just got tried of working on the CRTs all the time. Now I just use ZOC.

I always found DHL Global Forwarding a pleasure to work with, because it was so personal. People answer your calls. I'm sure that's not great for profits or high volume customers.

I was thinking the same thing too. I have always had a much easier time working with the Xilinx/Mentor workflows, and I would love to see the competition in that space. But then I remembered the last time I tried to download my copy

Back in 2000 I found we had a Power Mac 6100/60 at work which had the Copland developer preview loaded on it. I've never seen a copy of it since. I wonder if anyone still has the media, I looked all around the office for it, I&#x
