From Wikipedia: “Employees: Classified (est. 30,000–40,000)” Obviously the number of people working on the super secret stuff is smaller, not to mentioned each project has a compartmentalized staff, but keeping secrets at this size is going

I used to spend my entire life inside Visual Studio, but my life has mostly moved to VS Code, where the Rust Analyzer extension provides a really nice experience. Granted, on rare occasions the extension fails for some byzantine reason, and

Reminds me of a similar project a few months ago whose purpose was to unmask alt accounts. It wasn’t well received as I recall.

Many of the pictures I take have a lifetime, sometimes measured in hours or minutes. A restaurant I passed by before dinner that I'd like to check out later in the evening; a sign in a language I want to translate; a visual demonstrati

Relatedly, this is why zfg, a famous (debateably the best) Ocarina of Time speedrunner, doesn't do Any%, and has also opted out of the 100% category. He'd rather play the game than not play the game.

PLT was part of my CS degree, but only as a senior level course, and it was extremely abstract, and extremely difficult. Double majors (common with business) were exempt from it. I think it’s fair to say that almost none of my fellow CS deg

I think you have unrealistic expectations of software developers if you think they should all be able to do this. Elementary sure, and maybe they “should” in the platonic sense, but ask 10 developers to implement a language and 9 will fail

I like the idea in the abstract, but I doubt I'll see a synthetic meat/milk/coffee substitute that equals the real deal for many years, if ever. I'm more worried about the synthetic stuff becoming just good enough that,

I mean, in simple terms I guess I’m asking why mention it at all? A: What’s naughty about feet? B: they are sometimes sexualized. This doesn’t answer the question. I don’t see how it follows from one to the other. Sometimes hands are sexual

Yes, I know. I'm asking why something that is sometimes sexualized the victim of censors? The face-value answer is obvious of course, in that the logic of something that is sexualized must be a sexual thing and therefore should be cens

Not a woman, so take this with a grain of salt. A few years ago, I wouldn't have been very bothered by the privacy implications of an application like this, but for obvious reasons it's become much more prudent to consider them. W

There are many metrics by which C# is the nicest language, but after 10+ years of doing (and loving) C# development, I find that I prefer Dart as a C#-like language these days.

That's the takeaway for people in charge of the software development, sure. But really, is it even actually a lesson? To my knowledge, there was no accountability, no backlash, no one got fired or reprimanded, no manager was denied a p
