I guess the sheer numbers of smaller players really adds up, although it must be exponentially harder for artists who are reliant on expensive session musicians and studios for their sound (thinking of a friend who is doing it all her way a

LinkedIn is a global lying competition, with positively Shakespearean levels of bullshit and insincere toadying, and none of the irony. Close up, I’ve watched the most toxic developers pen lengthy passive aggressive blog posts to attack peo

It probably helps that millions of people are helping insect and bird populations by planting stacks of wildflowers, doing No Mow May, and being a bit nicer to local wildlife which all adds up.

I think the big mistake here is to assume that the original symbols were the right way of representing the information needed at all. A clear number for temperature on its own, followed by a separate symbol for a machine or a hand would be

Random thoughts: At various points in the past, record labels were the ones taking the big risks and getting the big paybacks, just like any business, fronting the funds for expensive studio time and the people to run them. And many bands t

About 25 years ago I recall a conversation with someone recounting his own - ongoing - hitchhiking around the UK, to get to and from university as well as travel. Some unsolicited bluntness too, saying I might have trouble, not being white.

Cars, electric or otherwise, are not really the optimal answer to pollution or traffic in 2022. Car clubs, mass transit and e-bikes, could use a bit more love in the UK.

Don’t have enough red pen to mark this, but how do you even sort versions chronologically if two or more are on the same date? Also how do you tell between types of change? Major? Minor? Patch?

I’ve just bought an MPC One recently and while it is very good, I don’t share the fawning of the author for the Akai machines. Indeed, I always suspect that articles like this are there to push up prices of hardware by bigging them up with

This is very good, although it’s not quite the same use case as IMDB given that once a show has finished its run, it’s gone. I’m not talking about overpriced long-running musicals - which deserve entries for cast changes anyway - but most o

It’ll take more than this to make up for the destruction of the Astoria, but I am looking forward to using the line. Sadly I had to fly out the day it opened but I’ll be back home in a week and will find an excuse to wander around it…
