You do know Gradle uses Groovy as the syntax for its build files, right? The people behind Groovy had a problem a year ago where they were retrenched from their jobs working on Groovy, and haven't found any businesses since then who&#x

When a Chinese, Japanese, and Korean talk to each other in English, they often can't understand an American who joins in the conversation. Perhaps Basic English , without nativisms like "stick around".

There's a "spec" for Groovy at its website groovy-lang.org but that site's owned by a private individual so it could be pushing it to call it a real spec.

One example is Kotlin was designed to be statically typed from the ground up, whereas Groovy's static typing was added 9 yrs later (mid-2012) as an afterthought.

Yep. Scala and Clojure brought life back to the JVM, being JVM-friendly dialects of Haskell and Lisp respectively. If it weren't for them, the JVM would already be sinking under the oppressive weight of Java and Groovy.

2. Groovy's stack traces are the joke of the JVM community. It's not easy to debug at all. 5. Grails adoption is tumbling. Not many places are starting new projects in Grails, or even upgrading from 2.x to 3.
