I broke a MBP screen a few years ago. Actually, two different laptops broke. One was warrantied, the other was an accident and had to be paid. The cost for a Retina display replacement in 2015? About $700. Ouch. I keep my MacBook on my desk

It's a mistake, man (or woman). Shit happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We have to expect as users of cloud software there is a chance our data could be compromised by BUGS or human error. I think that should be a given in any scenario. There

The article from sciencedaily does make you wonder, if one chemical is found to have problems and they replace it, then the next one is found to have issues and they replace that, is there really anything that can be vaped which doesn’t aff

One might also wonder how long it took Java to respond to user complaints, and I would suspect Go core team has been much faster addressing these issues and responding to developers.

Are you really arguing that the language is not “good”? Sure, there are things not to like about it, but the widespread adoption of Go as a systems programming language is evidence alone that it is a “good” language. Good is such an ambiguo

And you're not the only one. Outside of HN, in the real world, the average person doesn't set up a FreeNAS server or homelab for data storage, doesn't know how to do backups, and doesn't have nearly as much concern over

You’d think that if personal websites were a valid substitute for Facebook, the whole thing would have never taken off in the first place. Personal websites didn’t see massive adoption the first time around, and we can safely doubt they eve

I have seen so many critical articles of Mongodb. Even if I did have a use-case particularly well-suited for it, I would never consider using Mongo. As an aside, I did consider using SQL Server until I looked at the licensing fees. Why woul

What makes you think these "mobs" used WhatsApp for its security reasons? I'd expect it's far more likely they use WhatsApp because it's the most popular messenger in that part of the world.
