I broke a MBP screen a few years ago. Actually, two different laptops broke. One was warrantied, the other was an accident and had to be paid. The cost for a Retina display replacement in 2015? About $700. Ouch. I keep my MacBook on my desk nearly 24/7 now, but I’d hate to know the cost or have to pay for a display replacement.

My Lenovo laptop's screen recently started showing a dark area at the bottom. So I got a replacement panel off eBay for $40 and replaced it. Takes about 15 min.
