I think they try to have deeper themes sometimes, but the strict formula ruins it. Winter Soldier is about questioning loyalty, Wandavision is about burying trauma. The problem is that these themes are always undone or diminished in the end

The way that I stay optimistic is to think about how awareness of these issues is growing. As they say, knowing is half the battle. https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2019/11/25/u-s-public-vi... More pe

I don’t see why any of that means it can’t be reformed. No commonly-used language is formed in a vacuum.

That sounds great and all, except that estimates are usually wrong. It’s a real problem when estimates are treated as deadlines, which is exactly what you’re describing.

Can anyone familiar with the law tell us if this will stand? What grounds does the government have to limit access like this? On an unrelated note, I’m a little surprised how positive people are on this. How many of us spent time online in

I work for a small company, and I do believe loyalty is rewarded here. Raises, bonuses, freedom to move between projects, etc. I’m sure it’s a different story when you’re working with an army of devs. It’s a numbers game, everyone is easier

It's almost certainly based on the dominant puritan culture. You know, abstinence-only people. Based on some quick googling, it seems like it's not too uncommon.

Right. I still think these kind of tools are valuable. You can do motion capture and convert it into a style that is not photorealistic. It's arguably a more compelling demo to take live action and instantly turn it into something high

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I have zero interest in realistic character models in video games. There are limitless possibilities when it comes to art styles in gaming, and the one AAA picks over and over is realism. It's s

“Just not for the hardware issues” is a huge deal though. That’s an entire skillset you can eliminate from your requirements if you’re only in the cloud. Depending on the scale of your team this might be a massive amount of savings.

For Ctrl+R, suppose you ran 'curl' against a bunch of API endpoints on a single domain name 2 months ago. I can now easily find one without knowing too much detail by fuzzy searching curl+part_of_domain_name+part_of_path. For Alt+

This feels like a win for capitalism to me. The actually innovative Docker did is open source, and replacements already exist for DockerHub. So, we get the good tech they created, and the company with the user-hostile choices dies, or becom

I've dealt with code like that, and often wrote it. It's incredibly hard to get right IMO. It's an intuition that you develop over years of trial and error, not an exact science or set of rules.

This is important, but also, “virtually nothing” is a lie. I think self hosting can work, but you have to be honest about the costs. Deployment, maintenance, rotating logs, training others on all this.
