OPEX and CAPEX costs are significantly reduced with native IPv6 vs large NAT deployments. Adding layers to stretch IPv4 = complexity/gear. Gear/complexity = higher costs. And if you're already moving away from perimeter defen

Not surprised. I was forced to move a wireless access point from someone's office because they claimed to HR about the "heath risks."

“Never let a good crisis go to waste” seems to hold true everywhere. You get less blow back when you can shed folks and blame the economy.

Indeed! I always appreciate help explaining. I've been deep in networking for so long that I struggle threading the needle between not enough and too much information.

This isn’t a gab at you. But this question doesn’t make sense. I think the things you don’t know you don’t know about TCP and distributed system design make this difficult to pick apart. Remember, your identity in a TCP connection is your I

And with a much better regard for security! For instance, you could still own an iPhone 5s, released in 2013, and receive security updates.

For sure! I drive right through the mountains in the ADK often. Unless you're in a well populated village, there is no cell service at all. Break down on the road and you're walking 10+ miles.

I agree, it's not what we'd like to see. But It does not have to be binary. We must celebrate all wins, no matter how small.

While this is true, and I did this for the better part of 2010s, it was pretty clunky. Especially if one needs a platform for their wife or children to also use. I'm gonna ride out LastPass until webauthn really takes off. Which could

I'm not sure I agree. Many devices can saturate a 1Gb pipe these days. Even if it's for a brief period of time, your latency sensitive applications will suffer. Everyone should be using AQM.
