I took piano classes for several years as a child and they made me learn all the scales somewhere around the age of 12 or something. It was standard practice and I can't imagine anyone who took classes in the same music education syste

The lack of information (or information asymmetries ) are such a huge deal and not often appreciated. I would pay a lot more for many small electronic gadgets if I knew that they would 1) work better and 2) last longer than the cheap ones.

To be fair, regular therapy is also slightly dehumanising and dystopian. Not too long ago we had cultural constructions to prevent the issues we are now solving with therapy. Do you lack social context, close relationships and meaningful in

I also have relatively bad GERD and I've also noticed it getting better when I have flu or some other minor illness. I think this is just because I eat less and move less. Moving less helps because sometimes random movements in a wrong

What I don't get about CEO compensations is, do they even work? Like I get that you're a high impact person and you should have the proper incentives to lead the company in the right direction, but do the crazy compensations actua

Everything you do on a computer is recorded, at least ephemerally, in the computer memory. Does deleting stuff from the memory count as destroying evidence? If not, how is it different from deleting stuff from somewhere else? I mean, deleti

I've had very similar thoughts about pessimism. I certainly am one. The fact that I don't expect a very good outcome doesn't mean I shouldn't try, because what the hell else can I do? At worst, I get useful information o

Exercising. More specifically aerobic exercising. High and low intensity both work, but you have to do enough to properly exhaust yourself, just 15 minutes of walking is not enough. And not doing anything too exciting or demanding 2-3 hours
