There are no micro payments out there that would support the site. You'd need to charge something like 0.0005 cents per view. No currency exchange supports something small. In reality, it would make people money. The consumer could lim

Can I do that inline with a statement? I don't think I'd mind outsourcing rights to the DB.

Does anyone know how to do these things in JDBC? Is it possible to issue `SET my.username = 'tomas'` before executing a query?

On the whole I still think things look pretty good. We're getting better at reducing our impact environmentally. We're getting better at purifying things we already messed up. We're also making tech to do all this cheaper so

How often do those kinds of attacks occur? I'm actually curious. From my research it's more common that DDoS are intersubnet rather than intra. If this is the case, why not make Comcast prevent spoofing within its own network? The

And the question is "were they wrong?" Soot-streaked cities of the industrial revolution had to be soot-streaked. They didn't have any other technology. They had to use what they could to make better things. It provided bette

We're not trying to fight it at a legislative level. For example, ISPs could mitigate DDoS attacks through various means [1]. Sadly they just don't want to do the few day worth of labor (maybe more if they haven't properly au

What about ArangoDB? You can perform joins, even across the cluster. It's a document store. You don't have transactions across the cluster (yet, I'm pretty sure I'm right). You get sharding and distribution automatically

When I design systems I try to stay SQL compliant. This has benefited me in the past: From SQL Server to Oracle. Internally one can use optimizations like indexes unique to a DB, but in the end the client view is entirely only SQL.

Keep in mind that the Postgres hammer is a non-standard hammer. Sure it is pretty SQL compliant (except there are no dirty reads thanks to MVCC), but if you use JSON or the arrays or the many other wonderful features of Postgres, you are no

I do too. I find it odd that it took them so long to properly account for savings. They booked the transaction as a loss in my checking and a gain in my account, but flagged it as over spending.

Nor could they have made a rubber for the seal. They didn't have access to the plants (Nazi's tried to use the only source that would have been available at the time to the Romans and failed [1]). Think of the supply chain require

Just take a second to think about that. 1913. The Romans could not have made such a jar. They lacked the material science. Things like this amaze me. A Ball jar is a simple item from my daily perspective. It is in reality a fairly advanced

I quickly looked this over. Does Golang have some hidden ORM like feature that makes complex persistence easy? I spent the last three months working on a storage mechanism that controls all of CRUD at the document level across what is essen

I'm with zAy0LfpBZLC8mAC, what question are you attempting to answer? If you want to secure the database at runtime, your best answer is to have it locked down at the ports and the access ids. If you want to protect it at rest, yes, an

I did just that. You can quality for up to 700 in the ACA markets as long as you "make" 35k. If you make less than that, it shouldn't matter. Just pay your rates.

Don't have the money. Also, a reasonable index fund like XLS has had 13% on its own. Add to the trading oil ETNs. Those can have 10% moves on their own in a few weeks. They are also 1099.

The problem is that many investment products in 401ks under perform. At my last company the best fund netted on 4%. Since I now manage my own IRA, I get 15-20%.
